Key Responsibilities:
Process:
- Promote the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program to create tailored design solutions and deliver customized portfolio presentations, aimed at achieving or exceeding sales goals.
- Meet annual operating benchmarks and personal objectives.
- Conduct in-home consultations to understand clients’ unique needs, preferences, and visions.
People:
- Collaborate with Store and Sales Managers to provide coaching and support aimed at enhancing design culture, product knowledge, and sales strategies.
- Work in partnership with the team to ensure operational excellence.
Brand Advocacy:
- Create design concepts and digital presentations, incorporating furnishings and decor that reflect clients’ lifestyles and budgets.
- Transform client insights into actionable recommendations.
Operations:
- Ensure compliance with established systems and administrative procedures.
- Assist management in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings, along with the execution of special projects and promotions.
- Uphold brand visual standards and maintain cleanliness in all customer and employee areas.
Scope & Impact:
This position significantly influences the store’s financial health, team morale, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience within the community. It reports directly to the Store Manager and has an indirect impact on the sales team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2-3 years in sales or interior design, with a focus on residential settings
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and computer-aided design programs; strong interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Design Certification
- Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; business acumen; entrepreneurial spirit; and experience in relationship building

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Capacity to stand for extended periods

Compensation Overview:
- Total Compensation Range: $26,000 – $90,000
- Post-Training Base Pay: $26,000 annually
- Commission & Bonus: Earnings potential via uncapped commission on written sales – 3.5% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales, with monthly bonus opportunities based on individual sales performance.
Additional Job Description:
- Weekly Hours: 40
