Job description:
This position is designated for a Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Security Lead, tasked with supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in the management of weapon systems throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leveraging expertise in Systems Security Engineering (SSE) disciplines such as Anti-Tamper strategies, Trusted Systems & Networks, Cybersecurity, Hardware/Software/Firmware Assurance, Supply Chain Risk Management, Acquisition Security, Cyber Resiliency, Information Protection, and Critical Program Information (CPI) identification.
- Providing multi-disciplinary support to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) that encompasses project management, system security engineering, system administration, and network administration.
- Ensuring compliance with the latest Security Directives applicable to Platform Information Technology (PIT) and related systems, including DoDI 8500.01 (Cybersecurity), DoDI 8510.01 (Risk Management Framework for DoD IT), JSIG, NIST 800-53, and related guidance as identified in DoDI 5000.02.
- Offering cybersecurity support for assigned systems, which involves developing, modifying, reviewing, or coordinating essential items such as PIT determination packages, cybersecurity strategies, System Security Plans (SSP), risk assessment reports, and security assessment plans.
- Assisting in the execution of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes for assigned systems.
- Reviewing program office artifacts and providing recommendations to advance cybersecurity RMF analysis. Supporting the coordination and approval of sanitization and declassification plans or procedures.
- Conducting vulnerability, threat, and risk assessments, as well as security impact assessments on assigned systems and modifications. Contributing to the development of A&A reports and presentations necessary for approval processes.
- Managing and conducting Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of security requirements, including evaluating the technical implementation of security features to ensure they meet established standards.
- Documenting and reporting IV&V test plans, results, anomaly reports, and other necessary documentation as required.
- Performing cybersecurity site audits to verify architectural analysis, cybersecurity requirements, and mitigation actions, as well as supporting approvals for Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), Authority To Operate (ATO), and Authority To Connect (ATC).
- Documenting audit findings and providing recommendations to the program office or Security Certification Authority (CA).
- Identifying Software Assurance (SWA) pedigree, performing software security analyses, and reporting results to project management and Security CA.
- Supporting the development of operational SWA sensitivity analyses and SWA test metrics for insertion into the Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
- Providing technical assistance for tasks required by DoD and Air Force acquisition, cyber, science and technology, and testing directives.
- Engaging in RMF-related activities involving the development, coordination, revision, and publication of RMF-required documentation while offering subject matter expertise for the directorate’s capability development efforts under AFI 61-101.
Qualifications:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED “SECRET” Federal or DoD security clearance is essential. Upon joining Guidehouse, the selected candidate must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a “TOP SECRET” security clearance.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A minimum of EIGHT (8) years of pertinent Cyber Security experience is essential.
- Possession of a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is mandatory.
- Relevant experience in applying cybersecurity principles within USAF or DoD weapon systems is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED “TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)” Federal or DoD security clearance is highly desirable.
- A comprehensive understanding of DoD and USAF acquisition organizations is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of DoD Cyber Security policies and procedures is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project is beneficial.
The annual salary range for this position is $102,000.00 to $170,000.00, dependent on various factors including skills, experience, security clearances, certifications, and organizational needs.
