Job description:

As a Branch Sales Associate (part-time, approximately 20+ hours per week, 1st shift, Monday through Friday), you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by providing solutions and fostering connections with walk-in customers. Your primary responsibilities will include maximizing sales opportunities, cultivating customer loyalty, and exceeding customer expectations. Throughout your shift, you will shift your focus between assisting customers and performing various warehouse tasks, reporting directly to the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire customer experience, including the selection of appropriate products, accurate order entry, safe product picking, and loading of customer vehicles.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales and encourage customer loyalty.
  • Adapt communication styles to effectively engage different audiences, whether through email, phone, or in-person interactions.
  • Pick, prepare, and stage orders for will call and shipping.
  • Manage customer backorders and organize incoming stock.
  • Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
  • Conduct inventory counts as necessary.
  • Navigate various computer systems to efficiently handle customer-facing and warehouse tasks.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the branch in accordance with Grainger standards.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and comply with all process standards, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to work any hours within branch operating times.
  • Capability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Willingness to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
