Job description:

As a Branch Sales Associate (part-time, approximately 20+ hours per week, 1st shift, Monday through Friday), you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to walk-in customers by utilizing your expertise, guidance, and a positive attitude. Your responsibilities will involve maximizing sales opportunities, fostering customer loyalty, and exceeding customer expectations. Throughout your shift, you will seamlessly transition between assisting customers and engaging in various warehouse tasks. You will report directly to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire customer experience, ensuring proper product selection, accurate order entry, safe product handling, and loading into customer vehicles.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales and nurture customer loyalty.
  • Adapt communication styles to effectively engage with various audiences via email, phone, and in person.
  • Efficiently pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
  • Manage customer backorders and organize incoming stock.
  • Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts.
  • Acquire proficiency in navigating various computer systems for customer service and warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized branch environment to meet Grainger’s standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all operational guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to work any hours within the branch’s operating schedule.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; heavier items may require assistance.
  • Willingness to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
