Job description:

The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated entry-level opportunity aimed at preparing candidates for a Store Management role within 18 to 24 months. Emphasizing our promote-from-within philosophy, successful participants can advance to an Assistant Store Manager position following the completion of a comprehensive 6 to 8-week training program.

This role typically involves a commitment of 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends. Throughout the program, participants will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, enhancing their leadership skills while contributing to the development and strategic direction of the store. You will gain a thorough understanding of operations, customer relations, and internal strategies, all crucial for driving the team’s success. Your efforts will also focus on expanding the company’s market share by selling to large commercial users, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other clients requiring substantial quantities of our premium products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete training in accordance with the established program.
  • Support business strategies to drive sales and enhance profitability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Bachelor’s degree must be completed by the start of the development program.
  • Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role, supervising others or leading teams.
  • Previous experience in a team-oriented environment (work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the sales of paint and related products.
  • Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in more than one language, including Spanish.
