GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician position encompasses two primary functions: production auditing and receiving inspection. The production auditing aspect involves ongoing monitoring of production processes to ensure product conformance, including first-off approvals. The receiving inspection component entails verifying the conformance of externally supplied materials, managing rejections, and executing computer transactions related to inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (All QA Technicians)

  • Engage effectively with internal customers.
  • Meet established quality and quantity standards for assigned tasks, maintaining neat workspaces and adhering to safety practices.
  • Prepare reports as necessary and ensure the accuracy of all documentation.
  • Monitor and uphold the standards set by ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14000 policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (QA Technicians Assigned to Production Auditing)

  • Conduct first-off inspections for setup approval, material changes, color verifications, and die changes.
  • Utilize gauges to inspect parts according to specified instructions.
  • Document inspection results and material dispositions.
  • Determine appropriate material dispositions, such as "OK to Use," "Hold," or "Rejected."
  • Audit compliance with policies and procedures to ensure consistent product conformance.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (QA Technicians Assigned to Receiving Inspection)

  • Perform inspections as per established instructions on supplied materials.
  • Classify materials for appropriate disposition: "OK to Use," "Hold," "Rejected," etc.
  • Audit compliance with policies and procedures to guarantee consistent product conformance.
  • Record inspection results and material dispositions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (QA Technicians Assigned to Rejected Supplier Materials)

  • Coordinate the disposition of rejected materials, including soliciting return authorizations from suppliers.
  • Generate all required documentation associated with the disposition of rejected materials, including scrap tickets, return authorizations, shipping documents, inventory adjustments, and reject notifications.
  • Sort and/or rework rejected parts as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (QA Technicians Assigned to Data Entry)

  • Input data pertaining to received materials for inventory management.
  • Enter inspection data from QA production auditing.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in the quality field.

SKILLS:

  • Above-average mathematical, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Computer literate with a high degree of professionalism in a business environment.
  • Ability to visually judge color, with a requirement to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue test annually.

TRAINING SPECIFIC TO POSITION:

  • Proficient in the use of basic measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

OTHER:

  • Willingness to travel for extended periods with limited prior notice.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift.
