Job description:

Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is excited to announce an opportunity for an Aerial Sensor Operator to join our dynamic Aerial Acquisitions team in our Dayton office. This role reports directly to the Geospatial Team Leader and involves sensor operation and reporting for airborne mapping missions.

As an Aerial Sensor Operator at Woolpert, you will:

  • Participate in ground and flight operations, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Guarantee the accurate and high-quality collection of data.
  • Have a firm understanding of both tactical and wide-area mapping techniques.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and operate in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Download, edit, and troubleshoot sensor data while in the field, as well as set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and/or G.E.D., with two (2) years of relevant experience; a degree in GIS, geography, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
  • A willingness and ability to travel, both domestically and potentially internationally, is essential.
  • Preferred knowledge of ESRI software, including ArcGIS, as well as experience with Leica FlightPro, TerraSolid, and operating sensors such as the Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, DMC, and/or VisionMap A3.
