Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per annum

Job Summary:
As the Assistant Director of Environmental Services, you will support the Director in managing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. This role involves coordinating the tasks of the Operations Managers, acting as a liaison between administration and hospital departments to uphold the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in alignment with facility policies and practices.
  • Plan work schedules, allocate hours and duties to ensure comprehensive housekeeping services across all areas.
  • Interview, select, hire, evaluate, and recommend termination of housekeeping personnel as per facility standards.
  • Orient, train, develop, and supervise all Housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of the facility; identify action items and assist with relocations as needed.
  • Organize regular staff meetings and liaise with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.
  • Schedule major projects, ensuring sufficient staff and supplies are available.
  • Oversee regular inventory management of housekeeping supplies.
  • Assist the Department Director with budget preparation and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is essential.
  • A working knowledge of housekeeping procedures is preferred.
  • Documented progressive experience in healthcare housekeeping and facility maintenance.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage staff collaboratively and function effectively under pressure, while prioritizing tasks and developing budgets in alignment with facility requirements.
  • Proficient stress management, organizational, and follow-through skills are mandatory.
