Job Summary

This role supports the Store Manager and Manager in Training in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to meet store and personal sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.

Essential Job Functions

  • Achieve and exceed store and personal sales goals and performance standards.
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring high-caliber employees based on in-store needs.
  • Aid in training and developing a successful sales team.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by upholding company policies and practices.
  • Ensure proper implementation of company initiatives aligned with overall direction.
  • Recognize talented staff and foster their growth within the company.
  • Supervise daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Oversee Loss Prevention practices during the absence of the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Communicate all store needs effectively to the Store Manager and Manager in Training.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Deliver a fun, full-service experience to all customers.
  • Complete bank deposits accurately.
  • Understand and exemplify Journeys’ culture to the team.

Job Requirements

  • Prior retail management experience preferred.
  • 6-12 months of retail sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Completion of all training programs leading to Co-Manager position or equivalent training.
  • Availability to work 45 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
