About the Position:

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will serve as an ambassador for the store, exemplifying outstanding hospitality for both guests and team members. Collaborating with the Store Manager, you will enhance team engagement, maximize productivity, and contribute to driving business results. This position is based in West Chester, located at 7720 Voice of America Centre Drive, West Chester, Ohio 45069. The hourly pay range for this position is $21.26 – $31.88.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a store ambassador, leading by example in providing exemplary hospitality to both guests and team members, while educating them on products and services to facilitate meal solutions.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and manage team schedules, aligning with guest shopping hours to ensure an excellent shopping experience.
- Assist in analyzing sales and P&L reports, and other metrics to inform business decisions and develop strategies that drive success.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager and Talent Acquisition to forecast staffing needs and assist in sourcing, selecting, and hiring new team members.
- Partner with the Guest Services Manager to ensure team members receive a hospitable orientation and onboarding experience.
- Facilitate team training through The Fresh Market Academy and on-the-job training, ensuring exceptional guest service in a safe environment.
- Coach team members to optimize operations and promote professional development, ultimately enhancing retention.
- Assisting in managing store inventory and teams to effectively minimize product loss.
- Ensure adherence to The Fresh Market standards and policies among team members.
- Manage the store’s social media presence in accordance with The Fresh Market guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with store and department managers to foster teamwork and enhance team engagement.
- Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure departmental compliance with all safety requirements and protocols, including food safety regulations.
Availability:
This role requires the flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications:
At a minimum, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 5-7 years of retail experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with team members, management, and guests.
- The ability to read, comprehend, and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics for efficient merchandising.
- A thorough understanding of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in perishable goods, hospitality, and/or grocery retail.
- Familiarity with production planning software.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Software (iCIMS preferred).
Physical and Work Conditions:
- The role may involve repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures may be required.
- Candidates must be able to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours or as required by law) without breaks.
- Approved headwear, hair nets, beard guards, and personal protective equipment are required as per company standards.
