Responsibilities:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Tennis Instructor to support our expanding tennis programs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Head Tennis Instructor to deliver high-quality lessons, clinics, and camps, all while fostering a fun and supportive atmosphere that encourages players of all ages to improve and enjoy the sport. Whether working with beginners or assisting advanced players in refining their techniques, your contributions will have a lasting impact on our members. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of tennis lessons, clinics, and camps for players of all skill levels, under the guidance of the Head Pro.
  • Demonstrate proper tennis techniques—including serving, volleying, groundstrokes, and footwork—while providing constructive feedback to participants.
  • Manage group dynamics during lessons to ensure individualized attention and practice opportunities for all participants.
  • Set up and maintain courts, including equipment such as nets, balls, and cones, before and after sessions.
  • Observe and evaluate players’ progress, offering personalized input on skill development and areas for improvement.
  • Promote tennis programs by engaging with members, distributing promotional materials, or supporting social media initiatives.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of tournaments, social events, and inter-club matches.
  • Ensure a safe environment by enforcing facility regulations, monitoring player conduct, and addressing minor injuries or emergencies as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling lessons, tracking attendance, and maintaining player progress records.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow instructors and staff to ensure a coherent and professional tennis program.

Qualifications:

What You Need for this Position:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in sports science, physical education, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of tennis playing experience, along with coaching or teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of tennis rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Certification from USPTA, PTR, or equivalent (or the willingness to obtain certification) is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse age groups.
  • Physically able to demonstrate techniques and participate in drills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is advantageous.
  • A reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor is essential.
  • Ability to work on tennis courts, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on lesson and event requirements.
