We are currently seeking an Athletics Event Assistant for the winter season to join our Athletics Department.

Job Summary:
The Athletics Event Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the athletic director and coaching staff, facilitating event management and ensuring the seamless execution of athletic events at Harrison High School.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Game and Event Management:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating athletic events, including facility setup, entry gate management, and ticket sales oversight.
  • Collaborate with event personnel, such as ticket takers, scorekeepers, security staff, and concession operations.
  • Support game-day operations, including preparation of fields or courts.
  • Coordinate with sideline and press box staff, as well as officials.
  • Monitor pre-game activities to ensure timely commencement and conclusion of events.
  • Assist with first aid and emergency procedures during athletic events.
  • Secure all doors and gates, ensure all electronics are turned off, and report results to the Athletic Director at the conclusion of events.

Communication and Promotion:

  • Act as a point of contact for coaches, athletes, parents, and other stakeholders, providing information and resolving inquiries.
  • Utilize media and social media channels to communicate game updates and final results.
  • Collaborate with the press box for halftime promotions and recognitions.
  • Relay logistical information to coaching staff and officials regarding pre-game, halftime, and post-game meeting arrangements.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Support student-athletes by addressing their needs and promoting their well-being.
  • Assist in monitoring coach compliance with school policies and athletic regulations.
  • Report any facility issues to the Athletic Director.
  • Complete incident reports related to inappropriate spectator behavior.
  • Enforce security procedures, ensuring safety for participants, officials, and fans, and review protocols with security personnel.
  • Adhere to all district and state policies related to high school athletic programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state and league athletic rules and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.

  • Proficiency in navigating various technological programs utilized by the Athletic Department.

Education and Experience:

  • Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit.
  • Experience in coaching or athletic administration at the high school level.

Language Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public, conveying complex messages and solutions in a clear and concise manner.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit, Driver’s License.
