The Westin Cleveland is seeking a Leader for our Banquet Operations. This role involves supervising daily banquet operations and team members to achieve superior customer satisfaction, deliver quality service, and ensure compliance with both local and corporate standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include managing ordering, budgeting, and monitoring daily revenues and payroll expenses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct banquet associates, including captains, servers, lead housemen, and housemen.
  • Participate in interviewing, recommending hiring decisions, scheduling, training, development, empowerment, coaching, counseling, problem resolution, and conducting performance and salary reviews.
  • Ensure that daily operations of the banquet area comply with local and corporate standards, including managing supplies, reviewing setups, and overseeing food and beverage preparation and service.
  • Engage with customers to review Banquet Event Orders and address any changes, issues, or concerns, ensuring a quality delivery.
  • Calculate and review banquet checks for accuracy, presenting them to customers for signature to facilitate payment.
  • Prepare and verify daily service charges and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to the Accounting Department.
  • Maintain the sanitation and upkeep of banquet areas and equipment to protect assets and ensure high-quality service.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and be available to work regularly.
  • Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of two years of post-secondary education.
  • One to two years of relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Hotel experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HEI’s banquet and catering food and beverage services, policies, and operations is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to compile and present data according to established procedures.
  • A collaborative team player willing to assist colleagues in their tasks.
  • Sound knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, security and safety protocols, personnel and labor relations, business plan preparation, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-term planning.
  • Leadership skills necessary to motivate and develop staff to meet organizational goals.
  • Ability to establish priorities, plan, organize, and delegate effectively.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 Annually.
