Job description:

The Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center, located in Lewis Center, Ohio, is seeking part-time Banquet Servers and Attendants to enhance our team. As one of the largest venues in Columbus, we host a diverse range of meetings during the week and beautiful weddings on the weekends.

In the role of Banquet Server and Attendant, your primary focus will be on enriching the guest experience. This includes not only food and beverage service but also a comprehensive understanding of the products offered, all while maintaining a hospitable demeanor. Our guests will enjoy service across various venues on our property.

Essential Functions:

  • Efficiently set up equipment and items required for a successful event, such as buffets, food and drink stations, and table arrangements.
  • Serve food and beverage to guests according to the Banquet Event Order, ensuring continual stocking and adherence to presentation standards.
  • Proactively anticipate and respond to guest needs to deliver high-quality service and satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards by refreshing the event space and removing dirty dishes and trash.
  • Tear down and clean up equipment and items post-service, returning them to storage for future events.

Physical Requirements:

The position necessitates standing for the entirety of the shift, along with the physical ability to carry a banquet serving tray that holds a minimum of six dinners, with the objective of serving up to eight dinners. Candidates should be capable of lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling heavy workloads, exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and regularly lifting items weighing up to 55 pounds.
