Job description:

We are currently seeking to fill a full-time Barista position at American Electric Power, located at 1 Riverside Plaza, Columbus, OH 43215. Please note that we only accept online applications.

The work schedule is full-time, from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with additional details provided during the interview process. While previous barista experience is preferred, it is not a requirement for this role.

Job Summary:
The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks, as well as related food and beverage items. The role includes adhering to HACCP guidelines and maintaining quality food service operations. Interactions with customers and colleagues should be conducted with friendliness and courtesy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while ensuring cleanliness in the service area.
• Maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures in accordance with HACCP standards.
• Ensure all equipment, supplies, and utensils are clean and orderly.
• Follow approved recipes and prescribed production standards for food preparation.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and workstation before transitioning to other assignments.
• Greet customers warmly and interact to foster customer satisfaction, relaying any relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers promptly and efficiently, minimizing delays in service.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of daily menu items and articulate them accurately to customers.
• Employ effective communication techniques to assist customers in their purchasing decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively according to standards, serving them neatly and appealingly.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
