We are seeking to fill a part-time Barista position immediately at our Capital One Cafe, located at 511 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226. Please note that applications are only accepted online.

Job Summary: As a Barista, you will prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related beverages, adhering to HACCP guidelines for food safety and quality standards. You will also engage with customers and coworkers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders following standard measures and recipes.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and handle cash and card transactions.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while maintaining cleanliness in the service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and adherence to HACCP standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
• Keep display equipment clean and organized throughout service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and workstation before transitioning to other tasks.
• Greet customers warmly and ensure their satisfaction by addressing concerns to supervisors as needed.
• Serve customers promptly to prevent delays in service.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of daily menu items and accurately communicate them to customers.
• Advocate for effective selling techniques, assisting customers in their decision-making.
• Present display foods appealingly and serve food neatly according to established standards.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
