Job description:

To perform this role successfully, the individual must demonstrate proficiency in each of the essential duties detailed below.   • Review benefit enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinate enrollment processes with benefit vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with COBRA guidelines by reporting relevant COBRA events to the third-party administrator and recording insurance premium payments.
  • Oversee health, life, and disability insurance enrollments, while maintaining communication with service providers regarding routine program administration.
  • Coordinate 401(k) enrollment, process participant election revisions, and liaise with a third-party administrator regarding day-to-day administration of the program.
  • Maintain personnel files in adherence to applicable legal requirements.
  • Ensure that all employee and applicant documentation complies with regulatory mandates.
  • Provide employee relations support as required.
  • Update, monitor, and implement eligible salary adjustments or increases based on evaluations and approved cost-of-living adjustments.
  • Timely process personnel action forms within the HRIS system to keep employee records up-to-date.
  • Design, develop, and oversee the Health, Wellness, & Safety Committee and other related activities.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of staff-related special events, including committee involvement, coordination of schedules, and budget adherence.
  • Administer Leave of Absence and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) policies, collecting documentation and maintaining tracking systems.
  • Maintain an electronic library and log of compensation and bonus letters.
  • Manage the electronic library of supervisor trainings and acknowledgments.
  • Maintain the Aurora system database of commission rates and product lines for sales representatives.
  • Coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims with injured employees and the WC carrier or Third-Party Administrator.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in relevant meetings and seminars.
  • Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and department results in relation to established goals. Recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role:

  • An Associate’s degree from a two-year college or university, or two (2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Explorer, System 21, and UKG, or equivalent Human Resource systems and Online Benefit Vendor Enrollment Systems.
  • Capability to operate standard office equipment effectively.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel locally on a weekly basis, attend career fairs in neighboring counties as needed, and engage in occasional overnight travel for Sales Meetings, seminars, or visits to satellite business locations two (2) to three (3) times a year.
