Job description:
The Building Monitor is a part-time role that involves front desk responsibilities while serving as a customer service representative and support assistant at the Administration Building or other designated facilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing front desk operations.
- Greeting and assisting guests in a courteous, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Ensuring the completion and accuracy of required records.
- Promptly answering phone calls in a positive and professional manner.
- Promoting the facility and fostering positive public relations during interactions with patrons.
- Attending meetings and training sessions as required.
- Performing general custodial tasks and assisting with program setup and teardown as needed.
- Carrying out additional assigned duties as necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to obtain Basic First Aid and CPR (Adult and Infant) Certifications within 60 days of hire.
- Demonstrated experience in public interaction with a mature and responsible demeanor.
- Some college education is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic office and computer equipment, including multi-line telephone systems.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred, along with experience in community center or facility operations.
- Familiarity with programs offered by Leisure Services and other departments is advantageous.
- Physical capability to perform manual labor for extended periods, including lifting and carrying tables and chairs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to communicate procedures, issues, and policies courteously and effectively to colleagues and the public.
- Capacity to monitor all areas within the Administration Building, including stairwells and upper floors, and respond to emergency situations, including climbing stairs during evacuations.
- Willingness to adhere to the department’s uniform policy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
