Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Café Associate for our Clinton Township location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and smoothies, to our customers.
  • Serve food items such as hot soup, baked goods, and pizza, ensuring quality preparation as needed.
  • Follow company recipes for food preparation.
  • Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous, and exceptional service.
  • Handle customer transactions using the cash register, adhering to all company protocols.
  • Manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system and direct or transfer calls appropriately.
  • Maintain an organized display and stock of all coffee bar supplies, including beverages, condiments, utensils, and baked goods.
  • Uphold a neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
  • Follow department guidelines to manage damaged or spoiled products and assist in controlling inventory levels.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety and sanitation standards within the café at all times.
  • Alert management immediately of any safety concerns or equipment issues.
  • Assist in the training of new associates as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Previous experience in cash handling and customer service is required.
  • Café or coffee bar experience is preferred.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, typically 8 hours or more.
  • Competence in operating equipment safely and correctly.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, a positive attitude, and effective problem-solving skills are essential.
