Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide dedicated support to our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors. We are hiring immediately for 2nd Shift!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid Driver’s License or ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, and to arrive punctually for every shift.
