Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential care for our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a sincere passion for helping others, strong communication skills, and the ability to cultivate genuine relationships with seniors. We are hiring immediately for all shifts!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, specifically including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may involve light housekeeping.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and fellow staff members at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to working every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License or ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with punctuality for all shifts.
