Job description:

The Cashier (Cage), under the supervision of the Vault Cashier, is accountable for the management of all cash and cash equivalents, as well as the reconciliation process at the conclusion of each shift. This position requires the delivery of attentive, cheerful, and courteous customer service to all patrons, both internal and external, with the aim of consistently exceeding their expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (includes, but is not limited to, the following):

  • Assists guests with transactions at the assigned cage window.
  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Completes all necessary forms, reports, and logs for Title 31 compliance.
  • Prepares main bank transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Secures and documents all recordable transactions involving company assets.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety awareness in all responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (includes, but is not limited to, the following):

  • Develops alternative solutions to address customer service challenges.
  • Assists customers with issues related to ATM kiosks.
  • Performs any additional job-related duties as assigned.

This role involves regular interaction with immediate peers, colleagues in other departments, direct supervisors or managers, and customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is classified as medium, necessitating the ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds and frequently lift or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, manual handling, use of hearing, near/midrange/color vision, typing, carrying/pushing/pulling/lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, use of smell, and travel. Working conditions involve frequent exposure to air quality issues, occasional exposure to extreme heat, noise, and vibration, as well as potential hazards associated with frequent computer use and equipment exposure, and occasional contact with moving mechanical parts.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a cashier or teller is preferred, with at least six months of experience in a casino environment also preferred.
Certification/License: Candidates must undergo a criminal background investigation in accordance with the regulations of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of or capacity to learn basic bookkeeping and demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Ability to operate office machinery, such as calculators, copiers, printers, and Windows computers.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software is essential.
  • Basic understanding of casino operations is preferred.
  • Exceptional public relations and customer service skills, coupled with a friendly and positive demeanor.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
