Job description:

We are currently seeking to fill part-time Cashier positions at the Cleveland Museum of Art, located at 11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

The Cashier roles offer part-time schedules from Tuesday to Sunday, with varying hours, including evenings. Further details regarding the schedule will be provided during the interview.

While previous experience in customer service, cashiering, and hospitality is preferred, it is not mandatory.

The pay rate for this position is $16.85 per hour.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for performing cashiering duties, including processing cash transactions, verifying cash drawers, issuing change, counting cash receipts, and completing cash reports. You may also assist with general food service tasks and will be expected to maintain sanitation standards in all dining and service areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales transactions promptly and efficiently.
  • Accurately enter all sales into the cash register.
  • Manage payments, including making change and processing various forms of payment.
  • Follow established guidelines for issuing cash refunds.
  • Engage with customers professionally and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
  • Monitor customer purchases to ensure appropriate portion sizes.
  • Restock condiments, beverages, and supplies while keeping service areas clean.
  • Ensure compliance with company service standards as well as inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety regulations, including ServSafe requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
