We’re thrilled to introduce Dayton’s first contemporary Mexican Restaurant and Bar, guided by a two-time James Beard nominee and three-time finalist. Our competitive compensation ranges from $52,000 to $65,000 annually, based on experience.

As one of Dayton’s newest culinary establishments, we are seeking experienced Executive Chefs and Culinary Development Chefs to cultivate a professional and personable atmosphere within our team. Key Responsibilities:

– Oversee a team of 15+ cooks, including 2-3 management-level sous chefs
– Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of kitchen systems, including inventory management, preparation lists, scheduling, and ordering
– Bring creativity and innovative ideas to the culinary table
– Provide effective problem-solving solutions to everyday challenges
– Demonstrate mastery of cooking techniques and flavor profiles
– Serve as a mentor, fostering the development of team members
– Take ownership of financial metrics and understand the significance of the bottom line
– Maintain professionalism and maturity in all interactions
– Stay organized and punctual
– Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members

This position reports directly to the General Manager and Executive Chef, taking charge of daily kitchen operations under their mentorship. Sueno’s culinary programming will feature a scratch masa initiative, utilizing imported heirloom corn from Oaxaca, produced in-house. Our open kitchen will emphasize wood-fired proteins and produce, served from an impressive 8-foot centralized hearth.
