We are seeking a dedicated delivery driver to play a vital role in our nation’s food supply chain. As the face of our company, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition while fostering lasting relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, undertaking tasks that best serve the company.
  • Conduct all required safety checks and inspections for the tractor/truck and trailer in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report any safety issues or necessary repairs.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and ensure proper loading and securing of freight on the trailer.
  • Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for accuracy.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to freight in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
  • Drive to customer locations and deliver orders according to a predetermined route and schedule.
  • Unload products and transport items to designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Conduct damage control checks on items, use appropriate scanning tools, and adhere to company policy regarding order removals.
  • Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Collect payments (cash or checks) as required, secure returns, and ensure trailer doors are locked.
  • Safely unload damaged goods or returns and complete requisite paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours of service, compliant with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the tractor and trailers clean and organized.
  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Undertake related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma or GED, or state-approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A.
  • Compliance with all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Passing score on a road test.
  • Valid DOT Health Card, or ability to secure a new one.
  • Capability to hand-lift and use equipment to move products of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift (generally ranging from 10 to 35 pounds, and up to 60-90 pounds at specific locations).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over one year of commercial driving experience.
  • Familiarity with the foodservice distribution industry.
  • Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet).
  • Proficiency in handheld point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
  • Relevant experience in customer service roles.
