Job description:

The Coating Operator is responsible for operating the coating line and may work across multiple workstations, including face unwind, liner unwind, die, main console/winder, and quality lab. This role may require proficiency on more than one coating asset within a designated facility. Key responsibilities include leading machine setups and changeovers, troubleshooting issues, coordinating preventive maintenance, and making decisions on machine adjustments.

Compensation: The starting hourly rate is $24.16, plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate production records and logs regarding equipment and product performance.
  • Adjusting setups and process operations as needed.
  • Complying with all health, safety, and housekeeping policies, and consistently working in a safe manner for oneself and colleagues.
  • Attending and engaging in all required training sessions.
  • Understanding and implementing quality standard procedures relevant to the Coating Operator’s role.
  • Performing general housekeeping tasks and assisting with waste removal while supporting other areas as required.
  • Actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and product quality while minimizing waste and inefficiencies.
  • Supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fostering teamwork by assisting colleagues in meeting departmental and site goals, sharing knowledge, and participating in team decision-making.
  • Executing any other functions necessary for the efficient operation of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or a minimum of three years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively follow both written and oral instructions.
  • A strong commitment to safety, serving as a role model for fellow employees and promoting adherence to safety practices and policies.
