As a recipient of the “Best Place to Work” award in Butler County, we are pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of $1,000 ($500 payable after three months and an additional $500 after nine months).

In this role, you will provide essential services in clients’ homes or via telephone to ensure they can live independently. The Independent Living Assistant position is part of a contracted program through the Elderly Services Program. Your responsibilities will align with the client service plan crafted by our department manager and the Elderly Services Care Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting clients with personal and financial management and facilitating program applications. The position entails community-based work, conducting home visits, and occasional office time at our Hamilton, Ohio location.

Schedule:

  • Day Shift: Monday through Friday, 32 hours per week (Benefit Eligible).
  • Flexible scheduling options are available after training.
  • No evening or weekend hours required.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute assignments as outlined in the client’s service plan, including:
    • Personal banking tasks
    • Mail monitoring
    • Health insurance matters
    • Business and personal correspondence
    • Completion of various community, state, and federal forms and applications (e.g., JFS, SELF)
  • Arrange and accompany clients to medical appointments using transportation provided by the Elderly Services Program (not utilizing your personal vehicle).
  • Contribute to fostering a safe and positive work environment.
  • Complete all required orientation and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the geographic area served or proficiency in using map and GPS devices.
  • Deliver Shared Harvest commodity food boxes to assigned clients, with the ability to lift and carry over 30 pounds, including navigating stairs.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly productivity goals of 65%.
  • Uphold a positive image of Partner’s In Prime within the workplace and the broader community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that are appropriate to the role.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of personal auto insurance, and the ability to maintain active auto insurance. A clean driving record per insuring agency standards is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum age of 18 and at least one year of relevant work experience. Experience with public and health/welfare benefits programs and community service is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend written service plans, follow instructions, and document services rendered.
  • For banking services, successful demonstration of checkbook balancing and basic math skills, achieving a score of 70% or above on a competency test.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and families while accessing emergency services.
  • Excellent customer service aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently, manage one’s schedule, and ensure client needs are met.
  • Proficiency in time management and multitasking.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and program research.
  • Commitment to company values.
  • Proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
