Job description:

Our Territory Representatives engage directly with customers to identify their needs and provide tailored solutions, emphasizing a collaborative approach within field sales teams that is essential to our customer-centric business model.

This role is tasked with understanding and addressing the requirements of veterinary clinics, shelter facilities, and corporate accounts within the designated territory. The Territory Representative will be responsible for promoting our Company’s Animal Health (AH) Companion Animal product portfolio, facilitating customer strategy pull-through activities, and ensuring our Animal Health division is recognized for its value and innovative technical solutions aligned with our strategic focus—The Science of Healthier Animals. Additionally, this position requires a comprehensive understanding of the resources available across our Animal Health division and our Distribution Partners.

This position will cover the Lansing territory, and while it is preferred that sales employees reside within their coverage area, they must live no further than 25 miles from the territory boundary.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Deliver meaningful presentations regarding our Company’s Animal Health product portfolio, customizing interactions based on customer insights.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned customers, engaging with key personnel to understand their practice structure, business model, and customer needs, while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute customer strategies that outline interaction methods, partnership involvement, and potential offerings—ultimately driving sales growth for Animal Health products and services.
  • Create comprehensive territory and account plans for all key customers, collaborating with National Account Managers, the Corporate Account Team, and Distribution Field Partners to enhance focus on key accounts and corporate-owned clinics.
  • Work collaboratively to expand knowledge of our entire Animal Health product portfolio.
  • Foster team growth and development by sharing insights and best practices with colleagues in the region.
  • Analyze monthly sales data and manage expenses in alignment with budget guidelines.
  • Identify and leverage available programs and services within Animal Health to meet customer demands and facilitate educational and training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership and Field Professional Services to create and deliver relevant offerings tailored to customer needs.
  • Stay informed regarding Animal Health products, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Effectively communicate relevant insights and trends related to customers, industries, products, and markets throughout the organization.

Background & Education:

A Bachelor’s degree with sales experience is preferred, or a minimum of a high school diploma accompanied by at least five years of relevant work experience in fields such as professional sales, distribution, marketing, military service, or veterinary/healthcare/scientific sectors (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices).

The salary range for this position is $77,700.00 – $122,300.00, representing the lowest to highest salary we anticipate paying for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s placement within the salary range will be influenced by various factors, such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, governmental requirements, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual bonuses and long-term incentives, if applicable.
