Responsibilities:

  • Learn and execute fundamental dental assisting functions in compliance with the applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.
  • Actively engage in the Perfect Patient Experience by focusing on optimal treatment while addressing individual patient needs and concerns.
  • Master effective infection control procedures for sterilization and disinfection processes, ensuring the safety of both patients and team members.
  • Perform radiographs and intra-oral imaging only under the direction of a dentist, after completing all state-mandated requirements for radiation safety.
  • Prepare for patient care procedures and efficiently execute the process from patient preparation, proper tray setup, to providing essential chairside support, ensuring a smooth handoff to the front desk for follow-up appointments.
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
  • Document patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as per the dentist’s instructions.
  • Support patient care by ensuring treatment records, consents, and health history are presented to the dentist prior to treatment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all State, Federal, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, HR policies).

Qualifications:

  • No prior dental experience is required; however, customer service experience is preferred.
