The Departmental Manager plays a pivotal role by offering specialized professional and administrative support to the BSBP Training Center. This individual will oversee a diverse team, including Support Services, Dietary, Custodial, and Maintenance Staff. Responsibilities also encompass managing the completion of participant class schedules, dietary menus, event planning, and the maintenance schedules for both the facility and vehicle fleet. The Departmental Manager will be responsible for managing fiscal and personnel activities while ensuring compliance with departmental and bureau policies and procedures.

Key duties include coordinating activities through the scheduling of work assignments, establishing priorities, and directing the efforts of subordinate employees. Additional responsibilities involve developing, interpreting, evaluating, and recommending policies and procedures to ensure effective program operations. This role may involve performing tasks assigned to subordinate staff, adhering to any relevant licensing or certification requirements, and serving as a member of the essential staff team.

Work Schedule:

  • Week 1: Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Note: Temporary onboarding hours for the first 90 days will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. After 90 days, the position will revert to the second shift schedule.

This is an in-person position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level, or one year at the advanced (12) level.

Additional Requirements and Information:
ServSafe Certification is preferred, or the willingness to secure certification within six months of employment, with renewal every five years.
