Position Overview:
The Nutrition Services/Dietary Aide is responsible for providing exceptional table service in the community dining rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set tables and maintain workstations in an orderly fashion.
- Take orders and deliver services and requested items with grace and courtesy.
- Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service.
- Respond to inquiries regarding menu items.
Additional Duties:
- Uphold a high standard of customer service for residents and their guests.
- Assist with dishwashing and distributing clean dishes as needed.
- Maintain safe and sanitary work conditions.
- Adhere to personal hygiene standards and comply with the departmental dress code.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks diligently.
- Attend in-service training and educational sessions as mandated.
- Perform other specific duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in comprehending and following instructions in English and effective communication.
- Previous experience in fine dining restaurant service is preferred, though training will be provided.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu items, address inquiries, and facilitate the meal service process.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, guests, families, supervisors, and team members, demonstrating courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The role is performed indoors; candidates must be capable of standing or walking for the entire workday. Candidates should be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs independently and push or pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs independently. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing will be required, along with the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively.
