Position Summary:
The role involves washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china, equipment, flatware, and glassware in accordance with local health department standards, Suburban Inns’ Core Values, and Big E’s established protocols. The successful candidate will consistently strive to ensure that all guests are 100% satisfied.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet guests warmly and engage with them to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Wash all wares using dishwashing machines or by hand while adhering to the highest sanitation standards.
  • Collect and dispose of kitchen trash, empty garbage cans, clean and reline them, break down boxes, and remove debris, ensuring that misplaced silverware, dishes, and glassware are returned.
  • Clean and polish all stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen, including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, and refrigerators.
  • Store all dishes and wares in designated areas.
  • Clean the dishwasher and dish area following each meal period.
  • Notify supervisors when inventory levels of soap, chemicals, and paper towels are low.
  • Regularly inspect kitchen floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in completing the weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance checklist.
  • Safely store all cleaning equipment in designated areas.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.

  • Appearance: Hair must be well-groomed. All facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the uniform require management approval. Tattoos deemed offensive based on sensitive characteristics must remain covered at all times. This policy will be enforced impartially by the supervisor; the Vice President of Operations reserves the right to override any supervisory decisions.
