Job description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd Shift Electrical PLC Specialist Mechanic at our Delaware Container Plant in Delaware, Ohio. This facility produces corrugated packaging products for both local and national clients. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various aspects of multi-craft technician roles, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical drives, welding, pipefitting, and general machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safe work practices at all times.
  • Optimize equipment performance through proper adjustments, ensuring the quality manufacturing of products.
  • Mentor and train other maintenance staff in maintenance procedures and qualification requirements.
  • Conduct adjustments, calibrations, and alignments of circuitry and components while documenting their impact on unit performance, incorporating preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyze data from solid-state motor drives and controllers using electronic test equipment, including motor meggering.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, creating sketches to clarify design details and functionality of electronic units.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, AC and DC drives, and their associated control systems.
  • Effectively utilize maintenance software for operational efficiency.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities, assigning tasks to team members based on their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure thorough oversight of repairs to guarantee the integrity of all maintenance work.
  • Maintain optimal utilization of machinery to operate at maximum capacity and speed.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and in compliance with company standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working necessary hours and shifts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, emphasizing safety and housekeeping.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting factory instructions and schematics.
  • Capable of accurately measuring and calculating figures, as well as applying high school math concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, adept at executing instructions in various formats.
