GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist plays a pivotal role in engaging with guests, assessing their hair care needs, and providing recommendations for products and services. This position delivers professional services focused on enhancing the guest’s overall appearance. Working closely with the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), the Elite Stylist emphasizes performance (service sales and productivity), guest relations, and adherence to operating procedures and compliance standards. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service skills, and the ability to communicate product knowledge are crucial for success in this role.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

Performance

• Provide a range of hair services, including cutting, coloring, styling, treatments, and updos, as well as makeup applications and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass an average weekly sales goal of $1,900, contributing to the store’s overall performance in service sales, retail goals, and guest loyalty.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance guest service and drive sales.
• Collaborate in the execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing strategies to elevate the guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to provide knowledgeable support to guests.
• Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.

People

• Foster relationships with guests through personalized consultations and appropriate product/service recommendations.
• Efficiently serve all guests, including walk-ins, ensuring a timely experience.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to create a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to collaboratively deliver outstanding service.
• Communicate the benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app to salon and salesfloor guests.
• Participate in required training sessions and meetings to support your continuous professional growth.

Process

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies and standards.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures throughout the service process, following state board guidelines.
• Implement established service protocols to guarantee a consistent and elevated guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele management systems for scheduling future services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure readiness for guest appointments.
• Uphold high store operational standards, maintaining cleanliness across all assigned areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Follow loss prevention best practices while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Execute additional operational tasks as instructed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education

• Valid cosmetology license.

Experience

• Relevant prior work experience is required.

Skills

• Proficiency in contemporary salon techniques, including haircutting, coloring, texturing, and makeup application, with a willingness to develop skills across service categories.
• Competence in using necessary equipment and products for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and market hair care and makeup products effectively.
• Strong communication abilities.
