Job description:
Hughes Professional Center, located at 4100 Lake Drive in Grand Rapids, is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to join our team. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $16 per hour.
As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you will significantly impact patients’ lives by ensuring cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, properly disposing of medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetics of floors, carpets, and upholstery. Effective communication and collaboration with team members are essential to providing seamless service and fostering a positive work environment. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training and support to help you acquire new skills and advance in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas following established procedures.
- Handle the removal and disposal of linens and waste materials.
- Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery in accordance with procedures.
- Assemble, maintain, and store equipment/supplies necessary for task completion, adhering to departmental standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure service continuity and coordination.
- Report any maintenance issues and specialized cleaning needs within your work area.
- Assist visitors and employees in navigating the facility.
- Work primarily within a designated cleaning area, with flexibility to cover other department sites as needed.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in public or customer service, particularly in hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial settings.
