About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Cardiology team as we unveil innovative products in the rapidly evolving Electrophysiology (EP) market. Boston Scientific offers a comprehensive range of products and therapies aimed at treating patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib), including Cryo, Radiofrequency, and our Pulsed Field ablation therapy, FARAPULSE. Our current technologies encompass 3D Mapping and Navigation systems, Radiofrequency Ablation catheters, Diagnostic Catheters, EP recording systems, and Intracardiac Access Sheaths for diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders.

The EP Mapping Specialist will dedicate their first year to gaining proficiency in Boston Scientific technologies while engaging in extensive professional development to ensure their readiness for a hands-on, field-based role. Upon completion of training, the EP Mapping Specialist will provide expert clinical product and technical assistance, training physicians, EP Lab Staff, and sales representatives on the safe and effective use of the Rhythmia Mapping System during procedures in a designated geographic area, thus contributing to the achievement and surpassing of business objectives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Maintaining advanced clinical knowledge of EP diagnostic and ablation technologies, EP mapping and recording systems, transeptal access technologies, and left atrial appendage occlusion technologies.
  • Attending procedures in cardiac CV/EP labs within hospital accounts to support the development and clinical application of BSC AF Solutions products, including Rhythmia HDx mapping system and LabSystem Pro recording system.
  • Educating customers on the advantages and proper clinical usage of AF Solutions products through the creation and delivery of presentations and demonstrations across various formats to keep customers informed of the latest product, therapy, and technology advancements.
  • Engaging with existing and potential customers, including physicians and physician office representatives at hospitals, to assess their clinical needs, goals, and constraints regarding patient care and to demonstrate how company products can help achieve those goals.
  • Cultivating relationships with hospital personnel at all levels, including staff, physicians, and administrators, to establish new contacts and identify key decision-makers for future sales opportunities.
  • Addressing customer needs and complaints related to products and services by devising innovative and feasible solutions or collaborating with relevant personnel across sales, clinical research, marketing, and technical support.
  • Demonstrating effective change leadership and fostering strategic partnerships by leveraging relationships with peers, management, and the broader AF Solutions organization (Marketing, Training, and Strategic Planning).
  • Implementing and monitoring strategies as outlined in the quarterly action plan for the area.
  • Coordinating with other BSC sales management and representatives to build strategic partnerships that advance area and organizational objectives.
  • Developing relationships with key referring physicians, external fellows, NEPIs, and other influential physicians to promote market development and growth.
  • Training on and maintaining knowledge of clinical trial protocols and compliance with regulations set forth by global regulatory bodies to achieve corporate and departmental goals.
  • Managing clinical trial activities within the assigned territory, including completing Interest Visits and Site Initiation Visits.
  • Educating clinical investigators on clinical trial protocols, processes, and investigational products and features.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with 3D cardiac mapping systems or at least 10 years in medical device sales or clinical electrophysiology, or comparable education and experience.
  • A demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to articulate and explain complex technical product information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NASPE/IBHRE CEPS certification.
  • Work experience in Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiac Mapping, or Structural Heart Procedures.
  • Familiarity with 3D cardiac mapping systems.
  • An advanced degree (MS or higher) in business or healthcare.

The anticipated annual base salary for this full-time position ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, in addition to variable compensation governed by the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan, inclusive of certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives. Actual compensation will be aligned with demonstrated experience, training, pertinent education, including licensure and certifications, and other relevant organizational needs.
