Job description:

In this position, the selected candidates will be responsible for troubleshooting access controls, locking mechanisms, airflow systems, lighting controls, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all products in accordance with specifications and a predetermined schedule.
  • Provide warranty service and support for all products as outlined.
  • Deliver emergency service and support for all products as required.
  • Review system installations and initiate system commissioning.
  • Expect to travel up to 100% of the time, Monday through Friday.

Work Environment:
This role is not labor-intensive and primarily serves a customer base of animal research laboratories, including prestigious institutions such as UW-Madison, Yale, Harvard, and various pharmaceutical companies. The position entails extensive travel, with the company covering flight expenses and providing a per diem for accommodations and meals. While employees should initially cover costs for meals, hotels, and rental cars—approximately $2,500 per month—a company vehicle, typically a small van, will be provided. Employees can expect approximately 400-500 hours of work annually, with more hours during training. Occasional weekend work may be required, compensable with time off. The role will involve access to laboratory environments housing various animals, including clients, rats, chinchillas, dogs, and cows.

Pay and Benefits:
