Job description:
The Finishing Operator is responsible for managing all functional finishing assets, including S3, S4, rewinder, sheeter, and lever. This role involves leading machine setups and changeovers, troubleshooting issues, coordinating preventative maintenance (PMs), and making critical decisions regarding machine adjustments. This position is on the C shift, from 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM.

Starting hiring rate: $24.16/hour plus a $2/hour shift differential.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities may vary based on specific needs, and essential functions include, but are not limited to:

– Loading raw materials into the machine and unloading finished products.
– Determining and controlling the machine cycle, adjusting parameters as necessary to ensure product quality.
– Conducting routine tests and assessments of products using standard measuring devices, exercising judgment against standards that may not be directly measurable.
– Maintaining housekeeping standards for all assets and ensuring the production of quality products.
– Meeting production schedules and programming production sequences for optimum productivity.
– Adhering to standard operating procedures and following directives from senior technical personnel.
– Monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls to maintain adherence to production and process specifications.
– Keeping production records and logs to track equipment and product performance.
– Following all health, safety, and housekeeping policies and practices, consistently prioritizing safety in relation to oneself, colleagues, and manufacturing systems.
– Supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
– Collaborating with team members to meet departmental and organizational goals, including those related to Finishing assets, by participating in all necessary tasks to operate the facility.
– Providing support and participation in team decision-making and project work.
– Being prepared to work overtime on short notice to meet business demands related to the metalizer asset.

Candidates must be able to obtain a Lift Truck Operator’s license and lift up to 50 pounds, as well as achieve lift truck certification.

Minimum Requirements:

– High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or a minimum of 3 years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
– Preferred previous manufacturing experience.
– Ability to follow both written and oral instructions.

Preferred Requirements:

– 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment similar to this role.
– In-depth understanding of shipping and receiving systems.
– Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
– Strong project management and time management skills.
– Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
