Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Floral Manager for our Livonia location, projected to open in Fall 2025. Training will be conducted at our other metro Detroit locations, including Troy, Bloomfield Township, Clinton Township, and St. Clair Shores.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage all operations of the floral department, ensuring production meets established sales, gross profit, customer service, and labor goals.
  • Coordinate workflow within the floral department, including production, sales, merchandising, and product distribution.
  • Strategically plan product distribution to customers while collaborating with suppliers for the procurement and timely delivery of all necessary products and supplies.
  • Manage product and supply orders, maintaining proper inventory control to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to evaluate all new products.
  • Verify received merchandise against vendor invoices to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Design floral arrangements based on client specifications or select appropriate standard design patterns.
  • Communicate with the General Manager and the Director of Operations to determine product variety and production quantities, informed by orders and sales forecasts.
  • Engage with clients to finalize pricing and arrangement details.
  • Prepare flowers by unboxing, cutting, and sleeving, ensuring all displays adhere to department and store guidelines.
  • Provide cost estimates for arrangements.
  • Pack and wrap completed floral arrangements.
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and throughout the organization.
  • Foster associate development through training, supervision, delegation, and equitable rewards and discipline.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a floral department is essential.
  • Floral design certification is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Proficiency in floral design and execution is expected.
  • A positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and a proactive approach is important.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, typically 8 hours or more.
  • Capability to regularly bend, lift, and/or move weights of up to 25 pounds.
