Job description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated part-time Food Service Worker/Cashier to join our team immediately.

This position is based at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital located at 1221 South Drive, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858. Please note that only online applications will be accepted.

The schedule is part-time with varying days, including shifts from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and weekends from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additional details will be provided during the interview process. Prior experience in food handling is preferred.

We offer the unique opportunity to train in other positions within our organization. The hourly pay rate for this role is $15.50.

Job Summary:
The Food Service Worker/Cashier is responsible for performing various food service and cashiering duties while maintaining sanitation standards in the preparation, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing and measuring ingredients as required.
  • Transport food items to and from various workstations, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Store food items according to proper wrapping, dating, and safety procedures.
  • Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Utilize approved recipes and production standards to guarantee food quality and portion control.
  • Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following established service protocols.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints with a service-oriented approach.
  • Communicate relevant information to supervisors as needed.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and enter data into the cash register.
  • Provide correct change and accept various forms of payment, including declining balance cards.
  • Issue receipts to customers and follow standard procedures for processing cash refunds.
  • Maintain compliance with cash drawer overage and shortage standards while managing assigned funds.
  • Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while ensuring cleanliness in service areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
