Job description:

The Food Service Worker at Chillicothe Correctional Institution is tasked with supervising inmates to ensure meal and food items are prepared according to predetermined production plans. In this capacity, you will train workers in effective methods for fulfilling their responsibilities, as well as assign and coordinate tasks to enhance operational efficiency. You will also be accountable for maintaining the sanitation of the facility and ensuring personal safety by adhering to all established standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in the daily preparation of food items, adhering to proper dating protocols.
  • Coordinate and assist in both the setup and breakdown of workstations as designated by management.
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with established recipes and directives.
  • Ensure accurate portion control when preparing and serving food items.
  • Maintain daily temperature logs for food items.
  • Conduct sampling of all food items prior to customer service.
  • Notify management and remove any food items that fail to meet quality standards.
  • Complete opening and closing station checklists diligently.
  • Welcome customers as they approach and exit the serving line.
  • Solicit feedback on customer service quality and manage complaints while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Ensure a clean working environment, including floors, work areas, equipment, and food storage areas.
  • Confirm that all workspaces and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Responsible disposal of waste from the service line.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and working areas as needed.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and promptly report any identified hazards to management.
  • Participate in cross-training in various areas as required.
  • Be prepared to assist with concessions, catering, and special events as directed by management.
  • Complete additional tasks as requested by your manager on a regular basis.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff working on the line to ensure timely and efficient customer service, while coordinating with utility workers as necessary for sanitation needs.
