Job description:

The Food Service Worker at the Correction Reception Center plays a vital role in supervising inmates to ensure that meals and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. In this capacity, you will be responsible for training team members on effective duty execution, as well as assigning and coordinating tasks to enhance operational efficiency. This position also entails ensuring facility sanitation and maintaining personal safety by adhering to all established standards and regulations. Starting Pay: $18/hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and assist in the daily preparation of food items, including proper dating of products.
• Coordinate and support the setup and breakdown of stations as designated by the manager.
• Prepare and cook foods in accordance with specified recipes and guidelines.
• Use correct portioning when preparing and serving items on the line.
• Maintain daily temperature logs for food safety.
• Sample all food items on the line prior to customer service.
• Notify management and remove any food items that do not meet quality standards.
• Complete opening and closing station checklists.
• Greet customers as they approach and depart from the serving line.
• Solicit customer feedback regarding service quality and address any complaints with a positive demeanor.
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean work station, including floors, work areas, equipment, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Ensure that all work areas and serving utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Manage accurate disposal of waste generated from the service line.
• Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
• Conduct daily safety observations and promptly report any hazards to management.
• Cross-train in various areas as operational needs arise.
• Participate in concessions, catering, and special events as required by management.
• Complete tasks as assigned by your manager on a regular basis.
• Lead operations on the service line to ensure timely and efficient customer service, calling upon utility workers for sanitation support as necessary.
