Job description:

We are currently seeking to fill part-time Food Service Worker positions immediately. These roles are based at Belding Area Schools, located at 850 Hall Street, Ionia, MI 48846. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

The work schedule will consist of part-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Additional details regarding scheduling will be provided during the interview process. While prior food service experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

The hourly pay for this position ranges from $12.41 to $16.00. An internal employee referral bonus is available.

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare, present, and serve food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
  • Accurately weighs and measures ingredients as required.
  • Safely transports pans, kettles, and trays of food between workstations, stoves, and refrigerators.
  • Follows proper food storage procedures, including wrapping, dating, and adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Distributes necessary supplies, utensils, and portable equipment to colleagues as required.
  • Utilizes approved recipes and production standards to assure food quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and portion control.
  • Provides friendly and efficient customer service, adhering to established steps of service.
  • Addresses and resolves customer inquiries, and reports relevant information to a supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards, inventory management, and cash control procedures.
  • Adheres to all sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
