Job description:
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, starting at 6 AM

Position Purpose:
Warehouse associates are pivotal to our company’s success, actively ensuring the efficient flow of products through our distribution process while upholding quality standards. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.

In this role, you will transport incoming freight from staging areas to inventory storage on multi-level racks, timely replenishing and restocking pick slots while adhering to safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality standards. You will function as a collaborative team member within your department and organization, performing any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
– Identifying appropriate storage slots, positioning pallets with a forklift or hand-stacking items, and entering product data into the system.
– Counting incoming freight in the staging area and transporting it to the freezer using a forklift or pallet jack.
– Replenishing pick slots with outgoing stock items based on upcoming work orders.
– Rotating date-sensitive stock to the front of the racks and removing outdated inventory in accordance with company policy.
– Dispersing overstocked items in available slots for temporary storage.
– Removing empty pallets, cardboard packaging, and strapping to designated receptacles. Inspecting empty pallets for damage and transporting them as necessary.
– Adhering to all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures as outlined by the company.
– Ensuring a safe work environment by promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or acts.
– Reviewing work schedules, conducting safety checks on equipment, gathering necessary supplies, and preparing for operations.
– Wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
– Meeting productivity and accuracy standards as per location and company guidelines.
– Following receiving sheets, computer printouts, established procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
– Conducting inspections on items for damage and performing temperature and quality checks, taking appropriate action as needed.
– Performing general housekeeping duties within the work area as necessary.
– Managing battery replacement and ensuring equipment is secured while completing necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
– Executing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
– A minimum of 6 months of warehouse and/or distribution experience.
– A minimum of 6 months of experience operating a stand-up reach truck.
– Availability to work scheduled/assigned hours and any required overtime.
– Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift, with the ability to lift and stack products weighing between 10-35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60-90 pounds.
– Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, and dry).
– Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
– Over 1 year of warehouse and/or distribution experience using a motorized pallet jack or forklift.
– Experience in foodservice distribution or a related industry.
– Certification for operating a motorized pallet jack and/or forklift.
