Job Summary:
The General Maintenance Technician will oversee all aspects of commercial building maintenance, conducting repairs and inspections on facilities equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to clients.
- Conduct inspections of buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and well-maintained conditions, identifying hazards and the need for repairs or adjustments.
- Execute minor troubleshooting and repairs, including replacing light bulbs, fixtures, electrical sockets, switches, ballasts, and fuses.
- Identify and perform basic plumbing services, addressing issues such as unclogging drains and replacing faucets.
- Perform minor carpentry work, including drywall repairs, wall painting, and fixing doors and windows.
- Communicate with management regarding procedures and the status of work orders to facilitate informed decision-making and compliance with safety regulations.
- Request necessary equipment and supplies to maintain inventory levels required for installations and repairs.
- Provide after-hours emergency response as necessary.
- Complete work orders and requests in a timely manner using company-provided devices.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in Brewer-Garrett manuals and client contracts.
- Document all inspection activities related to building and life safety.
- Maintain tools, vehicles (if applicable), and communication devices in safe operating condition.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to gather and convey essential job-related information.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Trade school graduate, military training, or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.
- At least three years of experience in maintenance or construction.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in plumbing, electrical work, drywall, and painting.
- Proficient in using power and hand tools.
- Familiarity with electrical metering devices.
- Valid driver’s license required.
