Summary: The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality and success of daily operations at Goldfish Swim School, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending, private party events, and employee engagement activities. This role requires an ability to meet financial targets as outlined in the annual budget by leading, motivating, and supervising a dedicated team of employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration/Organization

  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Direct and oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with Goldfish Swim School’s standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively communicate and implement company policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Manage staff to promote productivity, performance excellence, and employee satisfaction.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and hiring processes to ensure the selection of high-caliber team members.

Leadership/Motivation

  • Act as a role model for employees, exemplifying professionalism and commitment.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with the management team to enhance communication.
  • Oversee, support, mentor, and develop a team of 30-60 employees.
  • Initiate and manage employee engagement activities to enhance workplace satisfaction.

Sales and Revenue Management

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the sales team.
  • Achieve sales and enrollment targets as set forth by the organization.
  • Drive revenue growth by fostering a highly engaged team atmosphere.
  • Ensure front desk sales personnel possess comprehensive knowledge of premier swimming lessons.

Financial Oversight

Operations Management

  • Train and oversee staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

  • Collaborate with Deck Supervisors on class scheduling, student progress, customer service, and staff performance and training.
  • Attain proficiency in scheduling software for bookings, class management, reporting, and administrative tasks.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Foster a professional and welcoming environment that enhances service quality for Goldfish Swim School families.
  • Monitor and strive to improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Measurement Standards

  • Successfully manage all financial budgetary goals.
  • Focus on membership retention strategies.
