In this role, you will provide direction related to operations, processes, and conditions within your department. You will plan, guide, and empower team members in their daily operations, modeling an exceptional customer experience for your team. Your leadership will help achieve departmental goals and facilitate a winning strategy among your peers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with peers to deliver the best shopping experience, ensuring an exceptional checkout process.
- Communicate effectively with team members while assigning daily tasks.
- Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals, ensuring departmental standards are met and required training is completed.
- Support the onboarding of new team members and cross-train high-potential talent, offering peer coaching on job responsibilities to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with leadership on departmental scheduling to focus on team member engagement, service improvement, and store profitability.
- Monitor product freshness by ensuring adherence to rotation and dating policies.
- Guide the team in compliance with food safety standards and regulations, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
- Lead team members in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display tasks where applicable.
- Foster an environment that aligns with the Meijer culture, emphasizing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
- Operate a cash register and manage cash handling as needed.
- Utilize powered equipment when appropriate.
- Participate in periodic inventories to support goal achievement.
