Job description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Companion to provide exceptional support to our elderly and disabled clients in the comfort of their homes. In this role, you will significantly enhance the quality of life for those in your care by offering companionship, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

This is a Part-Time or PRN Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering their mental well-being.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Aid clients with mobility and transfers, prioritizing their safety and comfort.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
  • Monitor and promptly report any changes in client health or behavior to appropriate office staff.
  • Assist clients with medication reminders and coordination of appointments.
  • Offer a comforting presence by engaging with clients in meaningful conversations to enhance their social interactions.
  • Uphold confidentiality and respect client privacy at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Proven experience in caregiving, nursing, or a related field (required).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor essential for caregiving.
  • Ability to follow care plans accurately and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
  • Up-to-date TB test.
  • Background check required.
