Looking to launch your career in the restaurant industry? Do you thrive on providing exceptional customer service in a welcoming environment? Anna’s House is seeking a Host or Hostess to join our Northland Drive team, serving as the first point of contact for our guests.
In this role, you will be responsible for warmly greeting guests upon arrival, offering accurate wait times, escorting customers to their seating, bussing tables, and ensuring that each guest enjoys a positive dining experience from start to finish. The Host or Hostess plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and a delightful atmosphere.
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming guests as they enter the restaurant
- Providing accurate wait times and managing waiting lists
- Escorting guests to their designated table or booth
- Presenting menus, silverware, and introducing the Server’s name
- Setting tables with necessary items such as condiments and utensils
- Clearing dirty dishes and transporting them to the kitchen
- Stocking cabinets and serving areas with adequate supplies (e.g., condiments, rolled silverware, glasses, etc.)
- Thanking guests upon their departure and encouraging future visits
- Coordinating with server staff about available seating options
- Maintaining a clean and inviting lobby area
- Attending to guests who require special assistance (e.g., children, elderly)
- Answering incoming calls and responding to guest inquiries
- Assisting server staff as necessary
- Performing duties of expo/food runner, busser, and takeout/deli server as directed by leadership
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma preferred but not required
Experience
- Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess or Waiter/Waitress is preferred
Skills
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
- Ability to engage comfortably in conversation with guests
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong verbal communication skills (both in-person and via phone) with positive body language
- Strong organizational abilities to monitor the dining area effectively
- Initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Keen attention to detail
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
