At Sunrise, the Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and inviting environment for residents, families, and team members by performing essential housekeeping and laundry functions in alignment with Sunrise’s quality service standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support spaces as assigned, consistently meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards.
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry.
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care as needed.
  • Collaborate with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and promote Risk Management programs and policies; adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to safety procedures at all times, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety protocols, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Team members may encounter blood and/or body fluids and may be exposed to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
  • Actively engage as a team member committed to working toward shared goals.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment, meeting or surpassing Sunrise’s quality standards.
  • A genuine desire to work with seniors.
  • Competence in managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Capacity to work semi-independently and follow through on assigned tasks while demonstrating initiative.
  • Ability to perform tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
  • For those driving a Sunrise vehicle, completion and signing of the Driver job description, understanding essential safety and regulatory duties, is required.
